ETC Labs Accelerator Interviews Mentor and HUT Consulting CEO, Harumi Urata-Thompson
Recently Harumi was interviewed in her role as a mentor in the ETC Labs Accelerator program on the state of blockchain technology. Among the many key insightful thoughts from the Q&A session, Harumi answered a question that is particularly relevant today,
“What do we need for the next generation of workers and employees to understand about blockchain? What does it mean to have blockchain as a skill?“.

Lessons in Breaking Barriers, Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation Diversity & Inclusion, NYC
HUT Consulting was hired to present on Diversity and Inclusion to the employees of SMBC (Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation) in their first event of the year and hosted by the company’s oldest employee resource group, Women’s Inclusion Network. It was very well attended from 5 different New York offices with more men than women in the audience. The event was opened with welcome remarks by the CEO and many stayed afterwards to network and ask questions.

Jeanensis Capital Markets hosted the Globally Local” blockchain, FinTech, and AI sympsium 2019 in New York to which HUT Consulting was invited to speak, joining top industry leaders, investors, innovators, corporate executives and academia. Canadian Consulate General’s Data Privacy and Cybersecurity Roundtable
The Canadian Consulate General in New York organized an exclusive roundtable event to honor The HMCS Charlottetown, a Halifax-class frigate that has served in the Royal Canadian navy since 1995, visiting New York City. As Charlotteotwn’s Commanding Officer, Nancy Setchell, is only the second woman to have commanded a major Canadian warship, Consul General Phyllis Yaffe wanted to take this opportunity to celebrate women in security business. HUT Consulting was invited to share the experience and expertise to enrich this conversation.
